~Her Flyness
Have you ever liked someone so quickly... that you questioned how you feel about him? Well..... I think I'm kinda there right now. As I'm sorting out these emotions, I had this song sent to me, and yeah, they truly personify all that I am experiencing....
Its Too Soon by Eric Roberson
Ooohh
Really can't explain girl the way I feel, nooo
All I know is all I want you to be near, yeahhh
I know that its due, but please be patient I'm learning you
and all I want is you too learn me too
(Chorus)So girl when I say (say)
say girl lets take our time( time)
Understand girl that I'm (that I'm)
I'm not offering game (game)
Hopefully girl in time (time)
how u and i deal with change (change)
Its soon too say i love u(3x)
I can say it too make your heart feel good, oooo
But its best that we are both understood
yeahhhh
Its important that I'm the same way for you right down the line
Well, let me tell you that I am true lover of soul music. I can't get enough of it. I can look back through my life and literally make a sound track for every moment. Right now, I cannot stop listening to "Dealing" by Eric Roberson and Lalah Hathaway. This song truly personifies what I am dealing with in this very moment. I will post the lyrics below as well as the video.
Here's a little background about Eric Roberson. He is currently nominated for a Grammy, tonight actually. He's from Rahway, NJ and is sometimes referred to simply as Erro. Attended Howard University, performed in a number of musicals and plays, landed a songwriting deal through the EMI label, and collaborated with Jill Scott, Vivian Green, Dwele, Will Downing, Musiq Soulchild, and DJ Jazzy Jefff.
I think what I truly love about Eric's music is the rawness. He captures true emotion in the way he writes and its reflected in his instrumentation. I am immediately transported to the place and time of the song. I love it. Its like a musical journey. Now, while his songs are spiritually arousing, he has some very sensual numbers as well. Especially in the song "Head to Toe". Man, this boy is trying to get all of us knocked up through iTunes. lol.
His albums are: The Esoteric Movement, The Vault, Vol 1, The Vault, Vol 1.5, The Appetizer, Left, and the most current, Music Fan First. <------- A must have! lol
Not really much else to say about Mr. Roberson except to go out and support him. He's a genuine artist and has impeccable writing skills. Oh, and he will be performing here in Atlanta on Feb. 13-14, for Joyce Littel's Valentine's event. It's going to be great! Lets see if I can come up with a lil' date for this one. lol
Where do we go from here What do I do with these feelings Longing to have you near Knowing...we shouldnt be dealing Verse: Why must the bad thing always feel so good Why cant I just stay away Though are situation was understood Still does not mean its ok {Chrous} Where do we go from here What do I do with these feelings Longing to have you near Knowing...we shouldnt be dealing Verse: Why cant these memories just be erased Why must I yern for your kiss The first moment we're not face to face Reminds me how much your missed {Chrous} (where do we go)Where do we go from here What do I do with these feelings Longing to have you near Knowing...we shouldnt be dealing Brige; When the morning comes (When its time for us to go our separate ways ) When this night is done (I'll be wanting to hold on to u) Though the sun wish we could push it all away cause then I know that we can show what we have from the day {Chrous} Where do we go from here What do I do with these feelings Longing to have you near Knowing...we shouldnt be dealing

My favorite songs of hers are High Heels and Superhuman w.Chris Brown
Maaaaaan, i'm high. (Not like that you herb loving folk..lol)>I'm talking about my favorite songs on India Arie's new CD. I can't stop listening to Chocolate High and He Heals me.
In Chocolate High, she's featuring her former boo, Musiq, and they are equating love with being high on sweetness. It is beautiful and cute at the same time. I just love it. It has a sense of sensuality just the same. It is evident that India has found love again, or is pretty darn close to it.
Now, "He Heals Me", has to be one of the most profound songs I've heard in a while. She truly, truly captured what I am experiencing and what I have experienced. In this song, she is singing to a guy that is both her friend and her lover. He loves her for who she truly is, regardless of her mistake, secrets, and flaws. Homegirl WOOOOOOOOOOORKED it on this song. I bought the CD last night and fell asleep to it, so I was determined to listen to it today. I messed around and put it in on the way to work and I was in pure tears by the time I hit I-20. This song, this song, this song...... it is so beautiful. Truly. Makes you remember the 1st time you fell for that unexpected lover. What I loved about this song is that this man she sings about is someone who added to her life, who she was to be. This was not sexual, but spiritual. She says he's healed her insides. He listens to her music, and listens to her heart. Ohhh man! I'm bout to tear up again. She finally says she doesn't care whether he's there for a season, a lifetime, forever or just a year, she's just enjoying the moment that she is in.He's a beautiful man, but most of all, a beautiful friend! You have to go listen, download, buy, this song! For real!
I think the beauty of this song, is the journey of love, not just the destination. All the steps that lead to it. We often miss the journey, by being too focused on what's ahead. We have to take the time to look beside us to capture the person that we are sharing it with. Love is a beautiful thing. And it's nothing like beautiful that captures all these emotions...
Oh, the rest of the CD is pretty good too. But honestly, I love this song and the interludes the best..lol.
I think I'm ready to embrace my healing, I hope he knows it......
Ok, I can't stop listening to Jamie Foxx's album .... Lord have mercy... between making me dance like a stripper to Blame It, and slow dancing to Slow, Overdose, and Rainman... lol . This CD has me acting all kinda ways.
Some of my favorite rap love songs! My ideal man has to be a Fly Nerd with a Hip-Hop thug edge. I know it sounds crazy, but I think I already found him. I hope he comes to his senses before I decide to keep it moving.....
Enjoy!

The Light By Common
I never knew a luh, luh-luh, a love like this Gotta be somethin for me to write this Queen, I aint seen you in a minute Wrote this letter, and finally decide to send it Signed sealed delivered for us to grow together Love has no limit, lets spend it slow forever I know your heart is weathered by what studs did to you I aint gon assault em cause I probably did it too Because of you, feelings I handle with care Some niggaz recognize the light but they cant handle the glare You know I aint the type to walk around with matchin shirts If relationship is effort I will match your work I wanna be the one to make you happiest, it hurts you the most They say the end is near, its important that we close.... to the most, high Regardless of what happen on him lets rely
Love Is By COMMON Yeah, yeah[Chorus] How beautiful love can be On the streets love is hard to see It's a place I got to be Loving you is loving me How beautiful love can be On the streets love is hard to see Gotta reach that frequency Loving you is loving me [Verse 1] Yeah, you know what love is Even found it on the ground where the thugs live My man had to dig deep to find his Couldn't sleep 'cause on the real he had five kids Live nig's, real niggaz express and taste it At crap games, black dames and big faces Cases in court, fam' showin' love and support You and your baby's mom thought that love was a sport As men we were taught to hold it in That's why we don't know how 'til we're older men If love is a place I'ma go again At least now, now I know to go within At time it can take ya for a spin Heartbreak hotel then you're home again I've seen love make a nigga soul pretend Like a story that he don't want to end Yo [Chorus] [Verse 2] It's all love where we come from In the hood love we was told to run from That same hood where the guns sung We holla love, hopin' it would come one Crack got so many lives undone From lack of love many hide some run I knew this girl with a son who dreamt of actin' in plays Demonstration with her man had her trapped in a maze Tryin' to find herself again, much of that she'd have gave Love can free us, to it some of us react as a slave Funny, we love 'em more when they're relaxed in a grave Wonder if a thug is raw, is he actin' afraid? Everybody loves sun, why do I attract shade? Heard of the love of money, but compassion it pays Talk about it with my youth so she'd understand What it is to be loved by a man Uh [Chorus] [Verse 3] Some say that I'm a dreamer 'cause I talk about it often Seen the hardest nigga soften wit' his homie in a coffin We walk and stand in, fall in it With the right companion we all in it Mary sang a song about it, having broad limits In the game of life, it's the scrimage Reminiscing on letters I wrote in my small days A letter to the people, love always Yeah [Chorus]
Well, you all know that I absolutely looooooooooove neo-soul music! It is something about the lyrics and the creative usage of instruments and vocal ability. There is really no need to elaborate on the greatness of all of these artists, but here is a list of some of my favorite songs/artists!
MAXWELL- "Til The Cops Come Knockin' " (Entire Urban Hang Suite Album) ,"Maybe You", Drowndeep:Hula, Know These Things: Shouldn't You, Mello: Sumthin (The Hush)
Kindred the Family Soul - "Stars", "My Time", "All that you are"
Conya Doss "Meantime"
Algebra Blesset "What Happened"
Jill Scott- "The Way" , "The Fact Is ( I need you)", "My Love", "He Loves Me" , "I Think It's Better" (and just about EVERYTHING)..lol
Erykah Badu - "Next LIfetime", "Time Wastin' ", Didn't Cha Know"
PJ Morton -"I Need To Know", "No Ordinary Love"
Lalah Hathaway- "If U Ever", "We were 2", "Learning to Swim", "Forever for Always, For Love",
What God has for you, it is for you.... Now, out of all the people in the audience, a camera crew chose me to be interviewed for PJ's documentary that will be aired in London. When favor is on your life, there is simply nothing you or anyone else can do about it. In addition to that, the production crew took all my information down and let me know that they will be contacting me in the very near future concerning this project. Who knows, PJ may call me himself! lol. Man, God is good. And I got to take a picture with him. I will post some video of the concert later.
PJs music is so real. You can hear that he is truly telling his life story. It's almost like his melodic diary. All his feelings and emotions have been put to song. You know I was dern near in a trance at the concert...lol.. I'm still floating.
Now, Jill Scott is one of my absolute favorite artist of all time. In fact, when I couldn't find the words to describe how much I was in love, I would put her music on and I knew what true love would sound like. (more on that later). When I heard she was getting a divorce from Lyzel, her true inspiration for her first album, I felt like I was getting a divorce. Now I go online to getting my daily black gossip update and she has not only completely finalized her divorce from DJ Lyzel Williams, a graphic artist.(2001-2007) but home girl has gotten engaged to Lil’ John Roberts, her drummer, and is having his baby. Wait, they kinda look alike. lol. They are expecting their first child together April 25. You know I was totally shocked. To top that, girlfriend has a tatt of his name behind her ear. Boy, he must be laying it doooooooooooooown!
One side of me wants to be overjoyed about her new relationship and pending birth, the other side of me wants to question the whole marriage thing and why these stars keep bailing out of these marriages. What ever happened to the tie that binds that is not easily broken. This microwave, instant society we live in has gotten crazy!! Now granted, I am not married and I was certainly not in their marriage, but man, these statistics are startling! I am not only seeing the whole "up n leave" mentality in Hollywierd, but in my day-to-day interactions with people that I know and don't even know.
I recently witnessed the breakup of a seemingly fairytale relationship. The 2 were dern near perfect for one another. It lasted for a few years. They got engaged, bought a house, and began preparing for the wedding. So we thought. Homegirl kept having anxiety attacks about "forever" and just upped and walked out of the relationship. Homeboy was devastated, naturally. You know men take forever to get to the alter mentally, so she might as well as ran him over with an 18-wheeler. So, needless to say, the relationship was shot to smithereens! Wait, it gets better. Months, maybe weeks, later, homegirl is completely in a new "I LOVE ME SOME HIM" relationship with another guy that looks a lot like her ex and she's pregnant. (Almost identical to the Jill Scott situation). And the dude is about to get engaged to another chick. This baffles me. The crazy thing is, this isn't the first time Ive heard of a situation like this. People run in and out of relationships without making them work or remembering why God has placed them together. Wait, I take that back. Half the time, God has nothing to do with their union, so that's the main problem all together. You HAVE to have God in, over, and throughout your relationship.
I don't know, it's hard to judge a situation unless you've been in it or currently in it, so I can't be the best expert in this. But I have been in a place where the "love of my life" was in love in the next 5 minutes, which led me to believe that our love never existed. Instead of continuing to wreck my brain about the validity of it, I just thanked God that I was able to experience what I had and used it all as growth material. Let me stop talking about this before my head starts hurting.
We need to do some serious praying for the success of our marriages and our future seeds. We need to at least TRY to make it last forever!

Lyrics to : He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat) You love me especially different every time You keep me on my feet happily excited By your cologne, your hands, your smile, your intelligence You woo me, you court me, you tease me, you please me You school me, give me some things to think about Ignite me, you invite me, you co-write me, you love me, you like me You incite me to chorus, ooh Ooh...
You love me especially different every time You keep me on my feet happily excited By your cologne, your hands, your smile, your intelligence You woo me, you court me, you tease me, you please meYou school me, give me things to think about Invite me, you ignite me, co-write me, you love me, you like me Incite me to chorus La, la, la...Da, da, da...Do, do, do...
You're different and special You're different and special in every way imaginable You love me from my hair follicles to my toenails You got me feeling like the breeze, easy and free and lovely and new Oh when you touch me I just can't control it When you touch me, I just can't hold it The emotion inside of me, I can feel it Ah...
The epitome of black love and expression of the heart...
~Fly with me on this one~
When I listen to this group, I know what love sounds like. It is such a comfort to find 2 people that love each other without any limits. Regardless of what they go through or have been through, they find the comfort in each other's love. That is so powerful. Many people think real love is so hard to find or a ficitional tale, but God can give that to you if you believe. And when you get it, you hold on to it. Just listen to these lyrics, or read them.
~Love & Flyness
Lyrics to "Stars"
So many times you could have walked away But I didn't have to say a word to convince you to stay 'Cause you know it and I know this thing is real So we continue to learn and our love grows deeper still Each day I watch you get better at this Each moment I'm more and more convinced We trust in love, we took the risk We ran our own pace We won our race And I could never turn away
Chorus
We've come so far Stars look up at you baby My heart belongs Right here next to you baby If I had just one wish It would be to stay together Stay together, let's grow together It's not much to ask of us I know we can do it I always knew it Always look at me the way you do today Treat me like a friend Listen to what I say Cause girl I'm wit'chu, wit'chu All the way I would never turn away
Chorus
We'e come so far Stars look up at you baby I'm here baby For you baby My heart belongs Right here next to you baby Repeat chorus Always comfort me The same way you do today Treat me like a friend Listen to what I say I would never turn away Repeat chorus
